Cuban lawyers preparing for increased foreign investment

The National Organization of Collective Law Offices (ONBC) is providing increased training for lawyers, given the opening of Cuba to further foreign investment, aimed at driving the island’s economy.

Ariel Mantecón, chairman of the ONBC Board of Directors, speaking in the capital, noted that a new diploma course has been put together, which in the medium term is compulsory for all those entering their ranks and working in non-traditional areas of law, relating to foreign markets.

He added that the field known as “Border Law” includes matters relating to the current Cuban economic model such as commercial contracts and economic and financial claims.
