Guyana stresses need to discuss climate change in regional summit

Guyana´s Ambassador to Cuba Halim Majeed stressed on Monday in Havana the importance that the upcoming Summit of Caribbean States addresses common positions regarding climate change for the region´s countries.

The diplomat highlighted the need to create financial mechanisms for projects aimed at minimizing the impact of climate change in the region during the 7th edition of the Summit.

According to Majeed, these issues will be discussed in the preparatory meeting of representatives and Ministers prior to the high level segment of the Summit and he expects these issues will be included in the final declaration.
