Cuban Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel met Wednesday (May 25) in Moscow with President Vladimir V. Putin and members of his staff. Díaz-Canel was accompanied by Cuban Ambassador Emilio Lozada García and Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra Díaz.
According to a brief press release from the Kremlin, the men “discussed the outlook for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, among them the transport infrastructure, telecommunications and communications, biopharmaceuticals, and civil aviation.
“In addition, attention was paid to Russo-Cuban cooperation in the fields of tourism, sports, culture and education.”
Díaz-Canel was also scheduled to meet on Thursday with Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev.
