UNEAC to award first dancer of Cuba’s National Ballet

Anette Delgado, first dancer of Cuba’s National Ballet received the Lorna Bordsall 2015 Award granted by the Association of Cuban Artists and Writers (UNEAC).

The award will be presented to her this Friday when the world is celebrating International Dance Day, at the Sala Villena of the abovementioned institution.

The executives of the Association of Stage Artists unanimously decided to grant the award to Anette Delgado, taking into account her brilliant career as dancer.

The Lorna Bordsall Award was instituted since 2010 as a tribute to the late US teacher and choreographer based in Cuba. It has been granted to several accloaimed professionals in the world dance like Cristy Domínguez, Alberto Méndez, Manolo Micler, Eduardo Rivero, Perla Rodríguez, Silvina Fabars, María Elene Llorente and Viengsay Valdés.

This time, Anette Delgado shares the award with Lizt Alfonso, director of the company Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, and Miguel Iglesias, director of Danza Contemporanea de Cuba company.
