Namibia Calls for End of U.S. Blockade Against Cuba

Netumbo Nandi-Ndaiwah, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Namibia, has urged the United States to lift its economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba.

Addressing her country’s National Assembly, the Namibian official said the African country has always supported Cuba against the U.S. blockade, which she said amounts to U.S. foreign interference in the internal affairs of the Caribbean state.

The U.S. blockade policy towards Cuba is rejected by the vast majority of the international community.  Last year, 191 out of 193 members of the United Nations voted in favor of General Assembly resolution on the need to put an end to Washington’s genocidal measure.
