Cuba, U.S. Talk for Strengthening Economic, Commercial Ties

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, said today that Cuba and the United States promote ways of communication for strengthening economic relations and exchange of goods and services.

According to the minister, the process for normalizing bilateral relations allows the Caribbean country the dialogue with the US Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasure, and the holding of two rounds of talks for discussing topics of common interest.

Malmierca said that the US Department of Commerce has particularly played a very important role in those conversations, chiefly through its secretary,Penny Pritzker, who arrived in Cuba today as part of the delegation accompanying US President Barack Obama in his three-day official visit.
