US State Secretary Might travel to Cuba Before Obama

US Secretary of State, John Kerry, announced today a possible trip to Cuba in a week or two to talk about issues included in the agenda of the announced President Barack Obama”s visit.

Kerry, who visited Havana last year to reopen the US Embassy in Cuba, announced the Foreign Affairs Committee of Congress the possibility to travel to Cuba to talk about human rights, among other topics.

When confirming the coming President Obama’s visit last week, the Cuban Government reiterrated its readiness to discuss any issue based on mutual respect, and said that the Islamnd also has its own views about the human rights in the United States.

Kerry announced his intention to travel to Cuba in response to a question in Congress about the Departmentof State’s annual budget.
