Malmierca: US Might Take Measures to Weaken Blockade

Cuban Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca warned Thursday that the US government may “adopt three key executive decisions to reduce the impact of the US blockade” in the commercial relations between Cuba and the US.

During a forum to promote the normalization of the bilateral links, starting from the approach in December 2014, Minister Malmierca mentioned the possibility to lift the prohibition of the use of the US dollar in the Cuban transactions.

Malmierca mentioned the affectations the US blockade implies, stopping the commercial exchange with the US and other nations, the facilities to open the US market to Cuban products, taking the bilateral trade to a real scenery, and the authorization to US companies to invest in Cuba, in different sectors from telecommunications.
