The International Habanos Festival will be held from February 29th through March 4th, dedicated to the iconic brand Cohiba, which is this year celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Cohiba, the name-brand of the Cuban Cigars industry, was created in 1966. At first, it was only seen outside Cuba as gifts for heads of state and visiting diplomats. Since 1982, Cohiba cigars have been available in limited quantities to the open market.
The event’s program includes visits to tobacco leaf plantations in Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Río and to cigar factories in Havana. Parallel events will include the Habanos Trade Fair, an international seminar and the Habano sommelier International Contest.
