The “Cuban Nights” space was opened in this capital by the island”s embassy in Belgium, to allow the approach to the culture of the Caribbean nation.
The film “Jose Marti, el ojo del canario,” was screened during the event, in commemoration of the 163rd birthday of the national hero.
The island’s ambassador to Belgium, Norma Goicochea, referred to the figure of Marti as a synthesis of Cuban-ness and patriotism. She also stressed the validity of his prolix thinking.
This space will allow the audience attending the activity to be closer to the culture and history of the country through music, visual arts, literature and cinema, among other artistic expressions, said a note released by the diplomatic mission.
The film “Vestido de novia,” by Cuban filmmaker Marilyn Solaya, will be screened in the coming edition of the event, to be held every week.
