Cuba and the Republic of Congo Increase Medical Personnel Training

Cuba and the Republic of Congo increased their cooperation in training health professional personnel, sending 850 young people from the central African nation to this capital to study at the University of Medical Sciences.

According to a press release published in the official website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry (cubaminrex.cu), this was the third group of Congolese people that travels to Cuba to study medicine where 1,200 are already studying in this country, and then returning to serve their people and communities.

In the farewell ceremony, held at the international airport Maya-Maya, in Brazzaville, the Minister of Health and Population in the Republic of Congo, Francois Ibovi, thanked on behalf of his Government the opportunity offered by Cuba to train citizens from his country as professionals.

He also highlighted that sending a new group to the island shows the efforts by President Denis Sassou-Nguesso to improve the health and welfare of the Congolese People.
