Cuban public health sees good results in 2015

Cuba’s achievements in the field of health are a demonstration to the world of the country’s commitment to continue working for the good of humanity.

According to officials from the Ministry of Public Health, for the sixth consecutive year, 2015 is forecast to end with a less than 5% infant mortality rate for every 1,000 live births.

The results of the country’s Maternal-Infant program have been possible thanks to the Medical Genetic project, which since 1983 has been redefined and improved, and Immunization initiative, protecting infants against 13 preventable diseases through 11 vaccination shots or immunobiological products, eight produced within the country.

Such programs have contributed to achieving a less than 5% infant morality rate, lower than that of developed countries such as the United States and Canada.
