Cuba´s economy grew 4 percent in 2015, despite the negative effects of the United States” blockade and financial restrictions, it was reported at a meeting of the Council of Ministers reviewed by the newspaper Granma on Monday.
The information was provided by Economy Minister Marino Murillo Jorge, who noted that this result was possible because there was enough liquidity and credits were signed and executed early.
He added that a decreasing trend in the prices of imports was reported.
Regarding material production, Murillo explained that a percentage of its share in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has increased from 59.3 percent in 2014 to 61.1 percent this year.
